Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Brute ("Brute," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Brute mobile application (the "App"). By using Brute, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Brute is built to work with as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
- Usage data: general, non-identifying information about how you interact with the App (screens viewed, features used, categories browsed) to help us understand what's working.
- Subscription and purchase data: when you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple and our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never see or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
- Notification preferences: your chosen reminder schedule and a device push-notification token, used only to deliver the reminders you've turned on.
- Content you create: any custom quotes you add are stored so they appear in your app.
- Device and diagnostic data: basic technical information (device type, OS version, crash logs) used to fix bugs and keep the App stable.
Brute does not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect your name, email address, or contact list unless you choose to provide it to us directly (for example, by emailing support).
2. How we use information
- To operate and improve the App's core features
- To manage your subscription and entitlements
- To deliver the reminders and notifications you've enabled
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues
- To understand, in aggregate, which features and categories are actually used
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
3. Third-party services
Brute relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit) — processes all purchases and subscriptions.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status and entitlements on our behalf.
- Analytics provider(s) — [NAME YOUR ANALYTICS PROVIDER, e.g. PostHog] — used to understand app usage in aggregate.
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policy, and we only share what's necessary for them to perform their function.
4. Data storage & security
Your custom quotes and preferences are stored on your device and, where relevant, with our service providers listed above. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the email below — we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. If you're a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA. These rights include access, deletion, and the right to know what categories of data we process, as described above.
6. Children's privacy
Brute is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
